This time our destination is the gorgeous town of Amalfi . We decided to try on the local life and rented a villa with the most picturesque view. I can’t describe all the sunsets we were able to catch, so beautiful and breathtaking . We found a pathway that goes all the way from the villa to the town center and every turn of that walk views are breathtaking. The whole town is cozy and while slightly touristy, it managed to keep its charm.
Another fabulous day brought us to these Ancient Greek Temples. Paestum is an often overlooked archaeological site in the southern Amalfi Coast. To say it’s breathtaking isn’t an overstatement. Paestum is located just south of Salerno, and it easy to get to by car. The Greek temples are so massive, and in such good condition, it’s staggering to know how old they are (dating from about 600 to 450 BC) and that they’re still standing.
It was an unexpectedly peaceful site to visit. There were very few tourists around, and we truly felt as though we had the place to ourselves. We will never forget this incredible experience!
‘Come back to Sorrento’ is on my mind when I look back at our pictures from Sorrento. This citrus-blossom-scented, southern-Italian town celebrated for millennia. Sorrento is a picturesque place with a spectacular cliff-top setting facing Mount Vesuvius across the glittering Bay of Naples. It’s the place where locals go when Amalfi Coast starts getting busy with tourists. Fantastic restaurants, shops selling lemon-themed souvenirs and perfect beaches – everything around just calls to relax and have a lazy day. And that’s exactly what we did with a bit of shopping and a lot of eating ;-))). Felt in love with this town.
We decided that the gorgeous Amalfi coast line has to be experienced from the water. So we caught the boat from Amalfi to Positano and enjoyed a spectacular views all the way to our destination. It was one of the highlights of our trip and we truly had fun exploring and getting lost in this ritzy “one-street” town. Btw, famous Lemon Sherbet is a must to taste! Delicious.
Vacations can’t last forever and our last day in Ravello was very sweet with a bit of lemon 🍋in it . We walked around Villa Rufolo for hours, had some coffee at the cutest little restaurant at the Piazza Duomo before going back to Amalfi.
Our trip was amazing and we are so happy that we were able to share this precious experience with the most important people in our lives – our lovely parents. Amalfi will be always in our hearts 💕.
One short walk trough the Rome before heading home… Arrivederci, Italia 🇮🇹😘😍, hope to see you again soon…
